There's a discussion on the SFR Brigade.com forums HERE about the possibility of the SFR Brigade sponsoring a contest. Does this interest you? Interested in helping or promoting, but don't want to enter? Not interested? Let us know where you stand. (You might want to read the comments before you answer the poll.) Also please add your thoughts in the comment section of this post. Thanks!

Great idea, Laurie! I'm not sure which I would rather do! I'll think about it and go check out the SFR website talks.
ReplyDeleteYou're always coming up with great ideas, Laurie. I'd participate on any level if I wasn't overloaded when the contest came up. Pulled in too many directions, I'd skip it though.
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea, Laurie - and I would love to participate in one way or another. Always happy to judge and it would depend on the contest rules whether I entered or not (how long of a piece, what sort of piece - is it a short story or the start of a longer piece, first chapter, etc?)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I'd love to enter a contest just for SFR. So many contests mix genres, where vampires and werewolves and faeries compete with science fiction.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, all. From the poll results so far, we have some interest, but not enough to hold a contest.
ReplyDeleteI'll leave this up a few more days to give more members time to read and respond.
Aw bummer. :-( I would love to participate if you have this, whether entering (if I have something worthy), promoting or judging. Perhaps we can help spread the word to The Galaxy Express to see if there's interest from there?
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestion, Rae Lori. I'll contact Heather Massey to see what she thinks. And I'll leave this up for a few days yet to give more members time to see it.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great idea. I'd help out/participate as time allows. Glad you left the post up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments all. I'll leave this up awhile longer or reopen the discussion at a later date.
ReplyDeleteWe only received about a dozen votes which unfortunately doesn't indicate enough interest to hold a contest.
