Say it isn't so?
http://www.epicauthors.com/
I just checked out my entry in EPIC and I noticed there's not one, science fiction romance. There are two in the erotic science fiction romance category. Hey, what's going on, Brigaders? This is a chance to Buffy-size those paranormals and we're falling short.
EPIC is a great contest for ePublished novels and I'd love to see some more names next to my entry and in the science fiction romance category.
Come on, Brigaders, pony up.

Two words: Cash. Poor.
ReplyDeleteI look at these contests and think 'oh, what a great idea'. And then see the entry fees vs. buying silly things like milk.
Maybe someday.
Thats why I haven't. I have to chose between bills and food this month as it is
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike! I was going to post a nudge, too! I entered yesterday. Usually SFR has tons of entries!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of EPIC, so I'm not interesting in entering.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to those who do, however!
Dawn, glad to hear you're in. I'm no stranger to being on a budget either, but it seems like this is a lot of promo bang for the bucks. (If only I could enter!) Did you enter SLIPPING THE PAST or LAST FLIGHT OF THE ARK?
ReplyDeletePauline, which did you enter? GIRL GONE NOVA?
Yeah, Girl Gone Nova is only book eligible. I wonder if there will be enough entries to sustain the category? If they don't get enough, they will either roll them into another category or, I can't remember what else they do. LOL!
ReplyDeleteIf my memory serves, it was a crowded category the year The Key was eligible. I didn't enter it in SFR, because I wasn't sure it had enough romance to compete. In hindsight, that might have been a mistake. Not sure. It didn't place, though The Key did take the Dream Realm award for SFR that year.
I went for it with GGN, even though there is no sex.
I'm also a bit strapped for cash when it comes to things like this. I'd love to enter, but I don't think any of my books are elligible because of their publication date. I'll have another look to make sure though.
ReplyDeleteBoth, Laurie.
ReplyDeleteI set aside for this contest back in the spring because I knew I wanted to enter both.
I'm entering Slipping the Past this Friday. Time is not my friend at the moment and that seems to be my biggest budget issue.
Ratzaroonie! I pubbed my YA SFR in June of this year, so not eligible until next year. Otherwise, I'd be all over it.
ReplyDeleteI have a YA fantasy, but the competition is pretty stiff there. I'd probably just waste my 25 bucks.
Well, best of luck Dawn and Pauline!!! It'll be your turn next year, Marva.
ReplyDeleteKeep us posted on the awards. I'd love to see a Brigader win it.
I'd thought about entering my SFR, but I keep sitting on the fence and can't make up my mind!
ReplyDeleteNot sure why I thought my futuristic wasn't eligible. I wanted to enter it last year but it was only published in June so I knew I'd have to wait. Anyway, it's eligible now, and having debated for a few days and raided the money box, I can confirm 'Children Of The Mist' is now entered.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the 'nudge', D L!
