Chinese Women Have All The Fun

Liu Yang, China's first female astronaut, or "taikonaut", landed in Mongolia today after 9 days in space. First of all, congratulations Yang. Second. . .jealous! So, so jealous.

Ever since I heard everyone in Firefly speaking Mandarin, I've been interested in China's space program. And it's pretty impressive. They're charging along with plans for a space station (squee!) and even a manned trip to the moon in 2016 (nerdgasm!)

My novel Red Ice, which will be coming out later this year, actually features a hero of Chinese descent. What do you think the future of China in space will look like? Just as important, what do you think the future of China in space fiction will look like?

  1. Wow. I can't even work up enough courage to ride in a helicopter! Impressive.
