New Steampunk Contest on my Website :-)

I am so lucky that I get incredible support from my family. When I made a little side trip into steampunk, my sister (who designs and sells jewelry locally) started looking for steampunk stuff and has come up with some truly fun stuff for my gift packs. Also, my sister-in-law, who brews up soap and other goodies in her basement, created a signature line of soaps and stuff in honor of one of my characters.

So I'm excited to launch a new, steampunk gift pack on my website (winner of last month's gift pack is posted). There is NO purchase required to enter. And I am being VERY  brave to give up some of it.

Drawing runs from June 1-16th, 2011.

Seriously AWESOME Review!

I got this amazing review from Two Lips, my first review from them and had to share!

A snippet from this long, detailed, and glowing review:

"Pauline Baird Jones has been one of my favorite authors since I read her Eppie award-winning Out of Time, a World War II time travel that truly captured the flavor of that wartime era. I also read The Key, the exciting prequel to Girl Gone Nova, and this book blows them both away. Like its predecessor, Girl Gone Nova is set in the present day. With all its twists and turns – enough to rival a West Virginia highway – Girl Gone Nova is one of the most wildly unbelievable, yet believable books I've ever read. It's simply one of the best sci-fi romances ever written."

I used Manic Readers very cool review service to connect with them. :-)

So fun to find this on the heels of the EPIC Book win! I just turned in my next release in the connected series and updated my website! If you have time, stop by and check it out and then let me know what you think. I used a template, and it's hard finding anything that reflects my personal writing diversity. (grin)

Happy Valentine's Day and a Hearty Woot!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

It’s a lucky day for my hubby. I woke up to some good news, so even if he forgets to get me a Valentine, he’s good.

First off, GIRL GONE NOVA won a Reviewer’s Choice Award here: http://tinyurl.com/ReviewerChoice

OUT OF TIME is up for Best Book of 2010 here:
http://tinyurl.com/LASRBestBook (if you feel inclined hop over and give me a vote so I won't look too lame!)

If you like FREE stuff, I’ve got five free shorts at All Romance eBooks. http://www.allromanceebooks.com

And print editions of my LONESOME LAWMEN have released on Amazon and B&N! The best price is, of course, the digital bundle THE LONESOME LAWMEN TRILOGY and if you buy, be sure to pop over to www.lldreamspell.com and enter the contest to win a great prize bundle, including a Kindle! It's Not SFR or even SF, but...

... I'm excited that my backlist is almost all back out. Hope its okay to post here! Just one more book to go! This is being released first as an e-bundle and with special pricing AND a contest! Here's the scoop:

In addition to the reader-friendly price of the e-bundle ($9.99) the release coincides with my publisher’s Valentine’s sale at All Romance eBooks, so the bundle price (Feb 2-15) is $7.99 if you shop there or at the sister store, Omnilit!

And if that weren’t enough February love, my publisher is also having a contest to celebrate the release, with a Kindle and some other goodies, on the line! The contest will run until the 28th, but the sales runs out the 15th! Details on my website (contest page) or here:

About The Last Enemy: “Pauline B. Jones is back with another terrific tale that will make readers want to savor each and every line. More suspenseful than her first book, THE LAST ENEMY still contains a large element of humor that really spices up this dynamite novel." 4 & 1/2 Stars from Romantic Times (RT Reviewer’s Choice Winner)

About Byte Me: "Ms. Jones makes a large splash with each new book and BYTE ME is no exception. The intricate plot and compelling characters make this a nail-biting read." Four and one-half stars and a December Top Pick, Romantic Times Magazine

About Missing You: "This rounds out the marvelous Lonesome Lawmen Trilogy. The wonderful characters from previous books are back, making this a truly exciting, engaging read! Talented author Pauline Baird Jones' star is on the rise!"  4 1/2 stars! Romantic Times (RT Reviewers Choice winner)

Two Short Stories release in new anthology!

While most of the short stories in this anthology are NOT SFR, one of mine IS and it's the lead short story in the anthology!

Comfort Zone
Marrying a man she'd met once was a bad idea. When the guy was ET it was insane—even if they were anatomically compatible. He and his world weren't just outside her comfort zone, they were outside her comfort universe. And if he didn't have amazing green eyes, saving her father's career might not have been enough to get her through the wedding...

I don't write a lot of stories where someone doesn't die or have to battle someone for something, so this is a rarity. It is just a romance story. Right now, it is only available in digital, at Amazon and ARE/OmniLit, but it should show up in print soon.

This is the last anthology (for now) that I have stuff in, but I have to say, I like having them. They fill in the gaps between books rather nicely. I'm over at The Romance Studio having a release party for this anthology. There are prizes and lots of other books, if you feel inclined to party!

Pauline

TANGLED IN TIME Gets a Holiday Early Release!

I got an early Christmas present from my publisher! She started uploading the files for Tangled in Time, (my science fiction/steampunk novella) so I could take advantage of holiday shopping!

First sighting of the early release is here. It should start showing up in other venues in the next few days!

Fun fact about this book: The digital editions are inscribed by the author!

Okay, must go happy dance now! :-)

All Steamed Up....For a Contest!

I'm having a contest at AuthorIsland in the run up to the release of Tangled in Time and I'm really "steamed" about it, because this is my first steampunk/science fiction romance novella to release (the steampunk part anyway)! Just click on "contests" or go directly to my website contest page to get details on how to enter.

About Tangled in Time:

Colonel Carey (from The Key and Girl Gone Nova) takes a test "flight" through the Garradian time-space portal, but an unexpected impact lands him somewhere and some when. As he attempts to get to Area 51, he crosses paths with Miss Olivia Carstairs, who could be Mary Poppins' twin sister. Or maybe her cousin. Olivia's got a transmogrification machine powered by steam and something more, and a mouth he'd like to kiss like it was his job. Can he get them both to safety before the buzzard eats them or she shoots him with her derringer?

Some early reviews:

"I read this Sci Fi/Steampunk Romance Novella ARC for the author and I couldn't put it down. It was wonderful with great gentle humor!" Reviews by Martha

"I can’t thank Pauline enough for exposing me to a new genre. I absolutely recommend reading Tangled In Time to science geeks and non-nerds alike. Pauline has the art of subtle romance down, which is something I can now say that I have been missing on my reading list. Tangled In Time is perfectly executed and an absolutely satisfying read!" Http://FirePages.wordpress.com

"Jones packs a wallop of a story in Tangled in Time. Humor and suspense abound in a tale filled with action and suspense. The diversity between Carey and Olivia in manner and speaking is portrayed with engaging wit and the chemistry between the two is fun and highly entertaining. Fans of Jones will recognize favorite characters from The Key and Girl Gone Nova, an added bonus. This novella will appeal to readers across genres, offering romance, suspense, and mystery all wrapped up in an intriguing Sci-Fi plot that grabs the reader from beginning to end." Midwest Book Review

I will have a cyberlaunch party before release and will have guest blogs/giveaways in a variety of places during the next two months, because I'm stoked! (grin)
