Upcoming - the SFR Brigade's Midsummer Blog Hop

Pssst! On the 22nd June the SFR Brigade will be holding it's first ever blog hop to celebrate Midsummer and all things SFR! I can now confirm that the 1st Grand Prize will be a Kindle Touch or Nook Touch, with a second prize of over 20 science fiction romance titles from various authors and a gift card - available internationally. And, of course, there will be individual prizes along the way from each participating blog (some restrictions may apply).

So what do you have to do to win? Simple! Just hop to each blog on the list below on the 22nd June and comment. On each blog, this will enter you for a chance to win the prize on offer there, and earn you one entry to the grand prize too. The more blogs you comment on, the higher your chances of winning! (Only ONE comment per blog will count as an entry - no multiple comments).

And if you want to take part? That's simple too. If you're a member of the SFR Brigade just go to the sign up page here - http://sfrcontests.blogspot.co.uk/p/sfr-brigade-midsummer-blog-hop-sign-up.html
read the guidelines and enter your name, blog URL and a contact email into the form. We'd love to have you. And if you're not already a member and want to take part, there's a new and easier way to join - go here

Until then, a huge thank you to all the members who've signed up and contributed to the prizes - you rock! I'd also like to thank Heather Massey, Laurie A Green and Janet Miller who have all contributed even though they aren't taking part in the hop. In the meantime, I'll hope you all spread the word about this event. See you on the 22nd! :)

Amazon and The Vanishing Tags

I know some of you have been concerned about the missing Tags on Kindle books - and, yes, it happened universally to all Kindle editions. I sent some angry emails to Amazon and I did get a very nice reply.

Let me start by saying they did not do this on purpose. This was not an intentional corporate decision, it's a glitch.

Here's the bulk of the answer they sent:

"I have contacted our technical support team and they are currently working on the issue with Tags not appearing on the Kindle pages. I'm very sorry for any concerns this has caused and I can understand your frustrations.

They were not able to provide an exact date or time when they expect this issue to be resolved, but I will continue to monitor the situation with the technical support team until the problem is fixed. I will send you another email when I've received notification that the Tags are back on the Kindle products and have confirmed this myself. We appreciate your patience in this matter."

I'll keep you guys posted if I hear more. We'll have to see if the Tags return or if we all need to start over *groan*

Coffee Time Romance Reviews Kaye Manro's FORBIDDEN LOVE

Remember when this released back in May? I'm excited to share with my fellow Brigaders the Coffee Time Romance review of my sensual little SFR eBook FORBIDDEN LOVE...

This is an interesting review, and earned four cups by one of CTR's highly regarded reviewers.  It is great to know that we SFR authors are out there and getting noticed.  Another great thing-- FL is now available at Amazon and is a kindle edition! I'm so pleased and impressed.

FORBIDDEN LOVE (CTR Review)

Reptilian specialist Dr. Maya Belle loves spending her days studying and caring for her beloved scaly desert friends. However, the government uses this desert as training grounds, and she fears for their existence as much as their safety.

Scouting missions like this are part of the reasons T’Kon of Asconage loves space travel, but it did not take long to realize that this planet is not ready to meet his people. They are a violent and combative species, and he sees no reason to interact with them.

Everything is going according to plan as T’Kon readies his craft to leave this solar system, when suddenly he is plummeting to the planet below. As Maya recovers from the freak sandstorm, she finds herself looking at the embodiment of her greatest dream and desire. This…man/alien is absolutely the most amazing creature she has ever laid eyes on, and for the first time in her life, she feels a soul-deep connection unlike anything she has ever experienced. T’Kon is struck by the same heady sense, and the feeling that this human female is everything his body craves, but how can they ever be together when they are worlds apart?

This quick read is as hot as the desert sun and just as scorching. Maya takes to her alien like a duck to water, which may seem odd, but when in relation to her profession feels almost natural. T’Kon is much more of a mystery, and one that I would love to see unfold in episodes to come. If you enjoy sci-fi combined with some blistering hot romance, these two are sure to rock your galaxy.

Okay, you've got it! Book 2 in this series, FORBIDDEN DESTINY with more FTL adventures featuring T'Kon and Maya, coming in the near future...

FL did generate some fantastic attention. Here's a question for those of you who have already read FORBIDDEN LOVE. Did the CTR reviewer hit it right on, or is there somehthing else you would have said or added?

See you around the Galaxy!

Lost in Space

Hello, Brigaders,

Still feeling like a newbie here, but it's Monday and my turn to report for duty. I'm having a fantastic time at CoyoteCon, and if any of you haven't dropped in there yet, set aside some time this coming weekend. The event has been amazing, and the organizers and participants are friendly and knowledgeable.

On the home front, I've got the new episode of Space Slugs up, an ongoing obsession with the new Espresso Book Machine, and my first release has hit the third party sellers. Roarke is a Science Fiction Romance published by Devine Destinies, and I'm going to take the moment on the stage here to plug it gently. :-)

Happy Space-faring!

Frances

Roarke

on Kindle and E-book

Blurb:

They have to be lying when they tell her she was dead. With no memory of her past, and no idea who she actually is, Nora has little options. Alone, and at the mercy of the Mercenary Defense Conglomerate, she searches for clues into her past, and the truth about her supposed demise. If she is a prisoner, robbed of memory and held against her will, then she must trust no one. If she has, in fact, returned from the dead, then who could possibly help her? Armed with only her wits and her inexplicably sharpened senses, she is forced to play along, to search for the holes in their story and to piece together the flashes of memory that serve only to taunt her.But the visions seem to confirm the impossible. The man who is supposed to be her fiancé seems bent on confusing her, and the one person she is desperate to be near may very well be responsible for her death. If the silent Roarke is her enemy, why do her visions draw her closer to him? And why, when nothing else seems remotely familiar, does Nora find herself remembering, or wanting to remember only him?
