A little info for any brand new Cadets about to embark on their first tagging run (don't be nervous, kid, we're right here if you need us!):
Why do we tag? To promote members' books, to help readers find the books they desire, and to help SFR grow. And, boy, are we growing!
A short how-to if you need it:
- Go to the Amazon buy page (I've included the links below)
- Scroll down to the Tags Customers Associate with this Product header
- Look for these tags: SFR, Scifi Romance, SF Romance, Science Fiction Romance and Paranormal Romance
- If the tags are already there, just click on them to add your 'vote'
- If not, type them into the 'your tags' box to add them (no need to save the page, just type and add)

As a result of the tag party last week, I read Nebula's music. I don't think it counts as science fiction, so I'm planning on adding a new tag, "space opera romance". Nebula's music is set in space, but doesn't meet with the pure requirments of science fiction. I think "space opera romance" is a more accurate tag and with will help readers find what they are looking for.

ReplyDeleteSince learning about the tags I've started looking to see how much they diferentiate the "rainbow" of types of sfr. For books I've read it's easier to add an extra tag that takes it further.
I think extra tags are always a good idea - Science Fiction is a broader category than most folks are willing to admit.
ReplyDeleteI fully encourage extra tags, whenever you know more about a book. "Alien Worlds" "Space Opera" "SFR Military" whatever the need!
