Member needing our good wishes

Just a note to make folks aware that Linnea Sinclair's mother has been hospitalized, so keep her in your thoughts. Linnea will still be attending the RT convention coming up. If you're planning to attend, you might check in and see if she needs a hand.

We're thinking about you, Linnea, and please let us know if we can help in any way!

  12. Thanks, everyone, for your prayers and good wishes. My mother is stable but, at 90 years of age and frail, we know this is just yet another issue in what will be a series of issues. She's still in the hospital but we hope to have her out and in a skilled nursing facility by the end of the week. From there, we hope she can return to her apartment in her assisted living community but we also recognize that may not be possible. She's been wheelchair-bound for over a year now--partially blind with mild dementia as well--and though her assisted living is rated for people of low-function like her, there will be a point she'll need more intensive skilled care. I see that point coming.

But at least for the moment we have staved off the threat of amputation of her leg. That was my most serious concern, and one that I felt would do more damage than harm. We're in a watch-and-wait mode now.

    Thanks again, ~Linnea
